Diana Gray Trapp, formerly of Lexington, passed away on March 24, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Diana, the daughter of the late Alvin Leroy Gray Sr. and Belva Hamilton Gray Hockensmith, was born on July 6, 1936 in Bowling Green, Ky.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Jennifer McCrocklin Fitzgerald and is survived by her second daughter, Katy McCrocklin Ivice and her grandson, Jake Ivice (Valentina). Diana is survived by her brother, Alvin L. Gray (Patricia). Also to mourn her passing, Diana is survived by five cousins: Faye (Peter) Hamilton Oeltgen, Cecil Webb, Jr., Barbara Jane (George) Letton, Michelle (Brian) Hamilton Thornton and Bradley Clark (Carol). Diana is also survived by nieces and and her nephew, great nieces and nephews, second and third cousins and many friends.
Before moving to Jacksonville, Diana was an active member of St. Raphael Episcopal Church in Lexington where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and arranging flowers for services. Diana also enjoyed genealogical research. She had been active in Silver Sneakers, both in Lexington and Jacksonville, as part of her physical fitness journey. She was a 1954 graduate of Lafayette High School in Lexington, a 1958 graduate of the University of Kentucky and a lifelong educator. The service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 1 p.m. at St. Raphael Episcopal Church at 1891 Parkers Mill Road in Lexington 40504 with the Reverand Canon Dr. Helen Van Koevering presiding.
