Robert Warren Featherston Jr. obituary, 1930-2025, Lexington, KY

Robert Warren Featherston, Jr., 95, passed away Sunday, February 9th at his home in Greer, SC. He was born January 5, 1930 in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Martha Veal Featherston and Robert Warren Featherston, Sr. Warren was a graduate of Lafayette High School and the University of Kentucky where he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and the Phi Delta Kappa education honorary. Warren served four years in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a teacher, guidance counselor, assistant principal and principal in Fayette County Schools for more than 30 years serving as an administrator at Lafayette, Tates Creek and Henry Clay. He was a member of the Lexington Rotary Club and a lifelong member of Central Christian Church. He served on numerous boards in support of education, the Lexington community, and Hackney horse societies. Warren is survived by his daughter Ann Featherston Owens (Chris), grandsons Reid Owens and Christopher Owens (Sydney) and his great-grandson Townes Owens. He is also survived by his nephews Keenan Bishop (Leslie) and Kevin Bishop (Lori). He was predeceased by his wife Betty Ann Bishop Featherston, his sister Dr. Barbara Featherston Tea, and his brother-in-law Reid Bishop. Services will be held at Central Christian Church on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11 am with a reception to follow the service.
