Paul-Barrick, Jr.-Obituary

Paul Barrick, Jr., 78, went to be with his Lord on April 18, 2024.  He was born in Danville, KY on December 6, 1945.  He graduated from Lafayette High School, Lexington, KY in 1964 and attended the University of Kentucky.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a Military Policeman in the Vietnam War. He was honored as “Outstanding Soldier of the Year” competing with candidates from all companies at Seneca Army Depot, Romulus, New York.

After serving his country, he became Business Manager, Secretary-Treasurer of KY Laborers District Council and Special Representative of Laborers International Union of North America. He carries a gold card for 50+ years of membership. He was an avid golfer, drag racer, and a Kentucky Wildcat fan.

Including his wife, Bonnie of 56 years, he is survived by a son, Todd Barrick (Spring) of Lawrenceburg and a daughter, Heather Puckett (Joseph) of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren, Christopher, Lennon, Taghan, and Avery; two sisters, Dianne Keefe (Michael) and Elaine Jandis (Robert).

God granted Paul with the gift of selflessness, giving of himself again and again to everyone. These qualities were established early on by his loving and faithful parents, Paul and Elizabeth Barrick, who instilled the value of hard work and above all, love of God and family.

Paul was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ and believed in the power of prayer. He was President of H.E.R.O.E.S., co-founder of Wheels of Time Car Club, former chaplain for Racers for Christ, minister at Porter Memorial Baptist Church, Perryville Baptist Church, Clear Creek Baptist Church, and an active member at First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg where he was a member of the Joy Sunday School class.

He was an incredible blessing to all that knew him, and we know that he is joyous beyond measure to be with his Lord and reunited with his loved ones.

Visitation will be  held at First Baptist Church from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, followed immediately by his service at 2:00 P.M.  Dr. Robert Ehr will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery with full military honors.
