Kenneth Floyd Burns

April 26, 1933 - September 14, 2024

Versailles, Kentucky - Kenneth F. Burns, 91, widow of Shirley Sue Alley Burns, passed away on September 14, 2024, in Lexington. He was born in Harrodsburg, Kentucky on April 26, 1933, the only child to the late Floyd Dallas and Mildred Parsons Burns.

Kenneth was raised in Lexington, Kentucky and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1950, and the University of Kentucky in 1955. He served his country in the U.S. Navy in active and reserve duty and was honorably discharged as Commander. He then worked for many years for Kentucky Utilities until his retirement.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Tani (Charles) Davis, Versailles, Jim (Kim) Burns, Lexington, and Susan (Will) McGinnis, Harrodsburg; grandchildren, Meredith Burns, Aaron (Erica) Burns, Isaac (Taylor) Courtney, Megan Davis, Erin Davis, Caitlin Davis and Ian McGinnis; and his great grandson, Ryan Poole.

Visitation for Mr. Burns will be held on Friday September 20th, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00PM at Clark Funeral Home, Versailles. Funeral services will begin at 1:00PM with Rev. Randy Nation. Burial will immediately follow in Rose Crest Cemetery with full military honors.
