Evelyn Denise Harris, 69, was born on April 30, 1955 to the union
of the late Derrie and Willetta Harris in Lexington, Kentucky. Evelyn
departed this life on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.
Evelyn was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and a graduate
of Lafayette High School. She was an avid sports fans and enjoyed
watching NFL games. Evelyn loved to play crossword puzzles, draw and
listen to music. Evelyn kept her sons close to the heart, but when it came
to her grandkids, she did not come to play.
She was preceded in death by her father, Derrie Harris; her
stepfather and mother, Johnnie and Willetta J. Harris Edmonds; a
nephew, James Earl Harris; and the father of her children, Richard
Walker.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Richard (LaKesha)
Harris, Sr. and RaSean Harris; six loving grandchildren, TaRay Harris,
TaeChelle Harris, Faylin Harris, Richard Harris, Jr., Fa'Rell Harris and
R'eyan Harris; two great-grandchildren, Taven Wright and Taylen Wright
(October 2024); six brothers, Don (Zina) Harris, Derrie (Larna) Harris,
Anthony (Robin) Harris, William Harris, Charles W. Harris and Charles
P. Harris; three sisters, CoraLee (Howard) Cowan, Cecilia (Alvin Baxter)
Turley and Cormella Beard; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
