Derrick Franklin, 41, beloved father of Maeleigh Franklin and son of Robert and Donna Franklin, passed away on Feb. 18, 2023. He graduated from Lafayette High School in 2000 and played Collegiate Soccer at St. Catherine's College in Springfield, KY. He received his Barber license from Baileys Barber College and worked at several barbershops in Lexington. He loved all things sports, especially the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and all sports at the University of Kentucky.
In addition to his daughter and his parents, he is survived by his brother, Bryan Little (Ashley); his nieces, Charlee and Carter; his maternal grandmother, Joyce Woolery; three uncles and several cousins.
Visitation will be on Tues., Feb. 21, 2023, 11 am - 2 pm, followed by a service at 2:00 pm, Milward-Southland. A Mausoleum service will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 pm at the Lexington Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to the Lexington Humane Society. www.milwardfuneral.com
