James Michael “Mike” Harris was born to the late Margaret Genette Hurd and Samuel Straughn on May 22, 1957, and went to be at rest on May 26, 2023. Mike was a graduate of Lafayette High School and retired from the Heavy Duty Truck Parts industry after over 40 years of service. Mike had the kindest heart and was a stranger to none. Selflessly and whole-heartedly, Mike loved his family and friends.

Mike was a loving husband, father, papaw, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Mike is survived by his wife of 34 years, Laura; son, Michael “Bumper” (Jami); daughters, Cassie (Josh) and Hannah (Alex); stepfather, James; sisters, Peggy (Ronnie), Vickie (David), and Terry (Jim); grandchildren, Katy (Dustin), Landon, and Carter; great-grandchildren, Ben, Brakston, Channing, Anni, and Emmy; many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins, and dearly cherished friends. At the time of his passing, he was greeted in heaven by his mother and father, Genette and Samuel; sisters, Shirley Diane and Shirley Jean; and mother-in-law, Ramona.

A celebration of life will be held at Lexington Calvary Church of the Nazarene located at 1142 Caywood Drive in Lexington on Saturday, June 3rd beginning at 11:00 AM.
