William Thomas Carraco

Tom Carraco, 83, was called home by his Savior on December 21, 2020. Born in Lexington, Kentucky on September 6, 1937 to Alma and Don Carraco. Tom was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Sylvia “Suzie”, by two daughters Tammie (Jeff) McMichael and Tina (Monty) Hamilton, three step-children, Margaret “Peggy” Kramer, Jill Craig, and Peter “Paky”(Traci) Kramer, ten grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

He graduated from Lafayette High School and retired from ABF as a Teamster. He was a long time member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a deacon, a bus driver on several mission trips, and a Sunday school teacher at a local nursing home for 30 years.  In addition he used his woodworking skills to build ramps for home handicap access and to help build many Habitat for Humanity homes.

Tom will be remembered as a faithful, kind servant and a “jack of all trades”.  He was a lifelong self taught learner using his hands to craft wood, metal, paper, and leather into beautiful treasures.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Immanuel Baptist Church, 3100 Tates Creek Road, Lexington, KY 40502. Donations will be used for missions and a new church plant.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Life service from 5:00 pm to 5:45 pm at Immanuel Baptist Church, Sisk Chapel (Door 1 or 2), 3100 Tates Creek Road, Lexington, KY 40502.
