BRABANT Joanne Watson, 86, loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, passed away peacefully in the comforting presence of her loving sons on January 21, 2022 in Lexington, Kentucky. She is reunited in Heaven with her loving husband, Thomas Coates Brabant; her father, Charles Wesley Watson; her mother, Sarita Davis Watson; her sister, Charlotte McGuire; her brother-in-law, Bobby McGuire; and many friends. Joanne was born on June 1, 1935 in Corbin, KY, where she enjoyed life with her parents and her sister. After graduating from the University of Kentucky, she was a teacher at Stonewall Elementary School in Lexington. She then became a stay-at-home mother to her two cherished sons, Tom and Kent. Joanne loved her family and friends. She enjoyed bike rides, playing tennis and bridge, attending UK ball games, and she was a devoted member of the VIP Investment Club and the PEO Club Chapter F. Joanne was a faithful, worshipping member of Trinity Hill United Methodist Church. She loved her church and inspired others to do the same. Joanne is survived by her two sons, Thomas Coates Brabant, Jr. (Charlotte) of Lexington, KY and Kent Wesley Brabant (Anne) of Ridgewood, NJ; her two grandchildren, Lorraine Leigh Brabant and Kent William Brabant; and her nephews, Brent McGuire, Pat McGuire, Mike Brabant and Mark Brabant. She was a lovely lady who will be missed by all who knew her.
