Allene Weathers (Hatfield) - Class Of 1945

 

 

 

HATFIELD Allene Weathers, 90, of Lexington, widow of Clyde W. Hatfield died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Lexington, September 11, 1927, daughter of the late Mary Fister Weathers Deane and Thomas Allen Weathers. She attended Wolf Run and Lafayette High Schools and received a BS in Commerce from the University of Kentucky in 1945. She remained an active member of the Wolf Run, Lafayette and UK Alumni Associations. A devoted lifelong member of Immanuel Baptist Church, she worked in the children's Sunday School and Vacation Bible School classes for many years and was a member of the Women's Missionary Union. A former employee of Southwestern Tobacco Company, she and her husband owned and operated a farm for over forty years. Survivors include her daughters Cecilia Hatfield [Mark] Wertheimer, Dayton, OH, and Tommie Hatfield Minnick, Summerville, SC, five grandchildren, Lindsey Minnick [Jayson McDonald] and Kevin Minnick, both of Louisville, Anna Wertheimer and Alex Wertheimer, both of Dayton, and Kelly Hatfield, Mt. Sterling, and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at 11:00 am on Monday, March 12, at Milward-Southland Drive, followed by funeral services at 1:00 pm conducted by Dan Russell of Immanuel Baptist Church.
