ANDERSON, Frank (John Franklin), Versailles, KY, died on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017. Born in Charleston, WV, August 9, 1944, he was the son of the late Marvin A. and Mary Clay Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Farris Anderson; his daughter, Jennifer Anderson; his son, Brian (Lori) Anderson; five grandchildren, Nicolas, Jaden, Cameron, Jacob, and Kaylee Anderson; his brother, Tommy (Bonnie) Anderson; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He retired from the Lexington Herald-Leader after 42 years as a photographer, where he covered many news and sporting events, including UK athletics, the Kentucky Derby, the Breeder’s Cup, and the World Series. He attended Lafayette High School (class of 1962) and Morehead State University. He was a member of Tates Creek Christian Church. Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Sat., Aug. 26, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home (Harrodsburg Road) with visitation beginning at 12:30 pm Sat. until the service time.
