Murphy, John W. Jr., beloved husband to Robin Murphy, lost his battle with cancer on June 29, 2013 at The Markey Cancer Hospice Center. Born July 31st, 1947 to the late John W. and Ethel Murphy and beloved grandson of Lucy Brumback. He was a proud graduate and football player at Lafayette High School. He was self-employed for 32 years, as owner of John Murphy Homecare Service. He leaves behind to cherish their memories; four children, Jeff (Jeni) Murphy, Scott (Becca) Murphy, Ryan Murphy, Katie (Karl) Smith; five beloved grandchildren, Shawn, Michael, Sarah, Dylan, and Anna; a brother, Garry (Mary) Murphy and long time friend, Abel Cruz. Services will be held at 12:30 pm Wednesday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Harrodsburg Rd. Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 pm Tuesday. Burial will be in the Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
