Nancy West - Class Of 1947 VIEW PROFILE

WEST Nancy Williams, 86, Lexington, passed away June 10, 2016. She was born to the late Pearce and Miranda Williams West on January 31, 1930 in Ewing, KY. She was a member of Central Christian Church. A graduate of Lafayette High School, she earned a Master's in Educational Administration from UK. She had retired as principal of Stonewall Elementary, after 25 years of service. Memberships included: Lafayette High School Hall of Fame: KY Assoc. of Elementary School Principals; board member, National Assoc. of Elementary School Principals; National Distinguished Elementary Principal from KY (1985); deacon, Central Christian Church; and volunteer, Meals on Wheels and God's Pantry. Nancy is survived by a sister Maud Johnson of Lexington; nieces, Nancy J. (Glenn) Watts of Frankfort, Beth Ann (Rankin) White of Lexington, and Lisa (Steve) Thomas of Shelbyville; great-nieces, Heather Watts of Frankfort, Miranda Scurlock of Louisville, and Shelly Hughes of Lexington; great-nephew Jeffrey Watts of Frankfort; great-great-nieces, Brittany Dray, Ava Smith, and Elizabeth Stith; and great-great-nephews, Noah Watts and Silas Arwine. Funeral Tuesday at 11am, with visitation Tuesday from 10am-11am, both at Central Christian Church. Burial will follow at Elizaville Cemetery in Elizaville, KY. Memorial donations are suggested to Central Christian Church Building Fund or to Millville Christian Church.
