Betty Ann Bishop Featherston

Betty Ann Bishop Featherston, 89, wife of Robert Warren Featherston, Jr., passed away Monday, Dec. 6, 2021 at her home in Greer, SC. She was born Feb. 19, 1932 in Lexington, KY to the late Reid B. Bishop, Sr. and Willa Redmon Bishop. Betty was a graduate of Lafayette High School and the University of Kentucky, where she was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Betty taught elementary school in Fayette County for 29 years and continued teaching as a substitute for an additional 10 years. Betty was a life-long equestrian and served as Secretary of both the South Central Hackney Association and the American Hackney Horse Society. Betty served as both a deacon and an elder at Central Christian Church in Lexington.
She is survived by her husband, Warren, as well as by her daughter, Ann Featherston Owens (Chris), and grandsons, Christopher Owens (Sydney), and Reid Owens. Betty is also survived by her brother, Reid Bishop (Freida), and nephews Keenan Bishop (Leslie) and Kevin Bishop (Lori). Service will be Monday, Dec. 13, 2021 at 10 am at Central Christian Church. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, 2-4 pm, Milward-Broadway. Interment will be at the Lexington Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to Central Christian Church, 205 E.
