John T. McCloud - Class Of 1962

John T. McCloud September 9, 1943 - September 16, 2023 John T. passed away peacefully at his home shortly after his 80th birthday. He is survived by his wife Melanie Rhorer McCloud, son Kevin Ray McCloud, daughter n' law Celina McCloud, granddaughter Raegan Leigh Bills, son n' law Bryan Bills, and his siblings Betty Wellman, Donald McCloud and Cindy Yeager. After moving to Lexington in the 8th grade, John made the Blue Grass his home. He graduated from Lafayette High School in 1962, served in the Army National Guard and worked for RJR for 28 years. After retiring from RJR, John and Melanie started Salvage Building Materials on Angliana Avenue for another 28 years, closing in 2022 John loved his family, friends and thoroughbred racing. He was a straight shooter and you knew on which side of the fence you fell. He had no time for the nonsense games. If you wanted to know what John thought, his filter was about 5%. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who called him friend. The service will be held Monday, September 25 at Kerr Brothers on Main St. Visitation will start at 10:30am and the service will begin at 12:00pm. John will be buried at Lexington Cemetary. The family wants to particularly thank Hospice of the Blue Grass for their considerable support during John's journey home. The family requests any donations be made to Hospice of the Blue Grass in John's memory.
