Tommy Catlett - Class Of 1949 VIEW PROFILE

Tommy Catlett age 88 of Nicholasville, widower of Barbara Bates Catlett, passed away Friday, October 16, 2020 at Frankfort Care and Rehab after a brief illness. Born in Shelbyville on December 5, 1931, he was a son of the late John Thomas and Rebecca Collier Catlett. Tommy was a retired salesman with the former women’s apparel company Nelly Don. Upon retirement, he worked two days a week with the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Department until his accident in June. A member of Jessamine Christian Church, Tommy was a diehard UK Football fan and attended every home game and away game to Tennessee up until about five years ago. He always said “when you die, you go to Kentucky”. He also enjoyed collecting knives, going fishing, and cars or basically anything with an engine. Tommy was a member of the Central Kentucky Knife Club, the Thoroughbred Fish Club, and the Jessamine County Cattleman’s Association. He is survived by: a daughter, Rebecca Catlett (Kevin) Swank of Nicholasville; a son, Tim Collier (Lisa) Catlett of Nicholasville; two grandsons, Brandon (Emily) Swank of Lexington, and Matt Swank of Louisville; two great-grandchildren, Eli and Harper Swank; and a brother, Mark (Tracy) Catlett of North Carolina. A graveside service with burial to follow will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at The Lexington Cemetery officiated by Rev. Wally Rendel. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Monday, October 19th at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Rd. Honorary pallbearers will be the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office and the late Huey Cornelius.
