William Robert Terhune

Lexington, Kentucky - William Robert Terhune, Mr. Bob, passed away on May 1, 2023, at the age of 86 in Lexington, Kentucky. Bob was born on June 30, 1936, in DeKalb, Illinois to Garniss Hunter and Cary Florence Terhune. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Lorraine Parr (Alan) and Lois Webster. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Ann Terhune, and his two sons, Hunter Terhune (Shannan) and Reed Terhune (Kylie). He was a proud grandfather to Mackenzie, Ryker, and Slade. Bob attended Lafayette High School and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University. He was an Army veteran prior to his career as a beloved Fayette County public school teacher for 30 years and served as the swimming pool coordinator for all Lexington-Fayette County public swimming pools for 20 years. He was highly respected in his profession and was known for his dedication and passion for teaching and community service. Bob worshipped at Second Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Kentucky. A graveside service will be held at the Lexington Cemetery for family and friends. Donations may be made to the Lexington Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
