MICHAEL VAZMINA

69, passed away June 17, 2018. Mike was born August 10 in Minneapolis, raised in Chicago but called Lexington Kentucky his childhood home. Mike moved to the Tampa Bay Area from Houston in 1986 with his family and his boat. His passions included sailing and traveling, both for work and pleasure. He followed the University of Kentucky Wildcats sports and was active in the local Alumni Association. As a founding member of the Krewe of Zingaro, he participated in over 20 years of Gasparilla parades and was very proud of the community service efforts of the Krewe. He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Jen and son-in-law, Sam Mallikarjunan; two grand dogs and many friends. A celebration of life will be held Friday, June 22 at 4 pm at Hyde Park United Methodist Church at 500 W. Platt Street. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to either the UK Tampa Bay Scholarship Fund, an endowment fund supporting a local student attending the University of Kentucky or to the Krewe of Zingaro Tribal Elder Fund to support the construction of an additional riding float for its members.
