JANE PIATT WAITS

Jane Piatt Waits, 94, of Lexington, died Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Thomson – Hood Veterans Center, in Wilmore, KY. A native of Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Barnett Henderson and Ethel Mae Waits. She was retired from Butler Printing, where she was the Office Manager. She was a WWII Veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps, where she attained the rank of Sergeant. She was also a member of the Pilot Club and was a volunteer for the Central Baptist Hospital Gift Shop.
Survivors include one brother, Russell C. Waits, Versailles, KY; one sister, Mable C. Carter, Henderson, KY; a special niece, Marjorie (James) Andrews; two great nieces, Anna Francis and Jennifer Francis; three great great nieces, Alexandria Francis, Ciera Locke and Olivia Locke; numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Allen Waits; four sisters, Lucille Waits Jacobs, Martha Thomas Waits Ethington, Marjorie Steele Waits and Peggy Jo Waits Flora.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday at Milward – Southland with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM Thursday. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.
