Arthur B "A. B. " Hellard - Class Of 1946

Hellard, Arthur B. “A.B.”, 87, born 10-20-1928, beloved husband of the late Virginia Mae Snapp Hellard, passed peacefully Fri, 11-13-2015 at Hospice Care Center. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Mary Lowe Hellard, and a brother, Francis M. Hellard. A multigenerational native of Fayette Co., he was a graduate of Lafayette High School and was retired from Columbia Gas of KY. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the American Legion Man-o-War Post8 and Tates Creek Christian Church. As an avid clock and watch collector, A.B. was a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Betty (Lewis) Marcum; several nephews and nieces, Bob (Norma) Hellard, Bill Hellard, Norma (Bill) Greeley, Janie (Joe) Mobley, Patricia Preston, Debbie (Johnny) Mamelakis, Ginger (Don) Wagner, and Jimmy (Jennifer) Marcum; plus a multitude of great and great-great nephews and nieces. A.B. was a caring, sensitive and wonderful uncle, friend, and humorous human being, always a delight to be around. Funeral services will be 9 am Mon, Nov. 16 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. with burial following in the Lexington Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dr. R. Scott Hellard, Bill Greely, Jeff Hogue, Joe Mobley, Bob Miller, and Wally Arthur. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm Sun.
