Wendell E. Harris - Class Of 1940 VIEW PROFILE

VERSAILLES - Wendell E. Harris, 92, husband of Ann Sheets Harris, died Thurs., Oct. 2. Born October 3, 1922, son of the late John R. and Lula M. Carver Harris, Wendell was a graduate of Lafayette High School, attended the University of Kentucky and Evansville College. He was retired former owner of W. E. Harris and Company in Lexington. A long time member of the Pisgah Presbyteian Church, he served as an Elder and Trustee and taught Sunday School for over 50 years. In addition to his wife of 66 years, survivors include a nephew, James Wendell (Cathy) Harris of Canton, OH, a niece, Cecile (Ed) Cluster of Richmond, VA and his faithful caregiver, Nancy Syroney-Stiles. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine H. Dicken of Owingsville, and a brother, Bernard Wayne Harris of Ashland. Funeral service will be 11am, Wednesday, October 8 at Pisgah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Pete Jones and Rev. Mike Ward officiating. A reception honoring Mr. Harris will follow services at the Pisgah Academy Building.
